Engineering identity

Think in outcomes. Build end to end.

  • 01

    Product engineering

    Backend-heavy full-stack engineering

Python and Django are my core, but I build the whole product—from React and Next.js interfaces to APIs, databases, Cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD.

  • 02

    Data platforms

    Data engineering

Production-grade Python and Airflow data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads, from reliable ingestion to dependency-aware orchestration to publishing time-series curves with scheduling, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.

“Make it work, make it observable, make it cheap to change. In that order.”

From the people I’ve worked with

  • “He is a highly capable scrum master and highly skilled Python developer and will make a key contribution wherever he goes.”

Shin Lim · Tech Lead of Tushar on Ferdia

  • “There is no better colleague than Tushar.”

Sifat Hassan · Worked with Tushar on the same team

  • “He is a colleague I would be honored to work with again.”

Erik Ormevik · Tushar was Erik's client

    Senior Software Engineer

    Cefalo

Apr 2022 – PresentDhaka · remote with Norwegian teams

Part of a 200+ engineer offshore organisation building for Norwegian industries: first taking 50% ownership of end-to-end full-stack development for a recruitment platform, then moving into backend and data engineering for a $550M green-energy market data and forecasting platform.

    Backend & data engineering

    Volue Insight

    • Ingest, transform, and publish 500+ time-series curves consumed daily by internal teams and external customers of a $550M green-energy market data platform.
    • Run 20+ production Airflow DAGs orchestrating end-to-end pipelines across multiple data sources, including scheduling, retries, and dependency management.
    • Automated the trunk-based CI pipeline (build, test, image publishing, deployment, release notes) and made the whole team faster.
    • Resolve broken pipelines surfaced by SLO alerts and customer reports, with root-cause analysis across team boundaries.

    Full-stack ownership

    SmartCruiter

    • Held 50% ownership of end-to-end design and development of a full-stack recruitment platform built with Django REST Framework, TypeScript, Next.js, AWS, and PostgreSQL.
    • Built a job recommendation service using Apache Solr, designed to save users an average of 5–10 minutes per job search.
    • Deployed services to ECS Fargate and ECR: auto-scaling with zero server management, no EC2 provisioning.
    • Built a local mobile-payment subscription system with proprietary APIs and scheduled jobs for one-time and recurring billing, designed to reach 70% of potential subscribers.

    Software Engineer

    Brainstation 23

    Jan 2019 – Mar 2022Dhaka · global client teams

Built and improved products for global clients: a high-traffic trivia platform for Robi and a transport ERP for the $2.33M-funded Norwegian startup Ferdia.

    High-traffic cloud backend

    Robi trivia platform

    • Kept a consumer backend healthy at 5M+ requests per day.
    • Cut the monthly cloud bill by 75% through API improvements, query optimisation, and caching, resolving the client’s budget concerns in weeks.
    • Boosted average engagement 30% with scalable friendship and chat features on API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB.

    Transport ERP · Norwegian startup

    Ferdia

    • Owned the organizational-unit management service powering RBAC, solving hierarchical CRUD with Modified Preorder Tree Traversal and taking query complexity from O(N) to O(1).
    • Resolved critical security vulnerabilities by locking down exposed customer data in S3 buckets, while keeping access to existing data smooth for users.

Energy-market data pipelines

Context
A $550M green-energy market data and forecasting platform, where traders and analysts depend on fresh curves every day.
Built
20+ production Airflow DAGs moving data from raw sources to published output: Python ingest and transform jobs feeding 500+ time-series curves, with an automated trunk-based CI pipeline behind them.
Impact
Curves that internal teams and paying customers rely on daily, and broken pipelines caught by SLO alerts before customers feel them.

Recruitment platform SaaS

Context
A recruitment platform startup that needed one engineer to own half the product, from design through deployment.
Built
Owned 50% of full-stack product delivery across Django REST Framework, Next.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS, including an Apache Solr job-recommendation service and a local mobile-payment subscription engine.
Impact
Job recommendations designed to save 5–10 minutes per search, auto-scaling infrastructure without managed servers, and a payment path designed to reach 70% of potential subscribers.

High-traffic trivia backend

Context
A consumer trivia product for Bangladesh’s second-largest telco: five million requests a day, and a cloud bill the client could no longer justify.
Built
Backend hardening across APIs, database queries, and caching; then serverless friendship and chat features on API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
Impact
75% of the monthly infrastructure bill eliminated in a short timeframe, and average user engagement up 30%.

Org-hierarchy service for transport ERP

Context
A Norwegian ERP platform digitising coach and charter bus operations, where role-based access hinged on a complex organisational tree.
Built
The organizational-unit management service, redesigned around Modified Preorder Tree Traversal to make hierarchical reads constant-time.
Impact
Query complexity down from O(N) to O(1) on the service every permission check depends on.

Marginalia — cited RAG document Q&A

Context
A personal research tool: upload PDFs, text, or Markdown, ask questions against them, and get answers that trace back to the exact source passage instead of opaque LLM output.
Built
Next.js 16 and React 19 app on a two-stage RAG pipeline: documents are chunked into overlapping passages, embedded with Gemini Embedding 001, and stored in Prisma over SQLite; queries are ranked by cosine similarity and answered by Gemini 2.5 Flash through Anthropic’s Claude Agent SDK, streaming cited responses as NDJSON.
Impact
Every answer ships its sources before the response even finishes streaming: click a citation mark and the cited passage surfaces in a margin panel, turning a chatbox into an auditable research tool.

Recommendations

People I have worked with, in their own words.

Every recommendation on my LinkedIn, unedited: managers, clients, designers, and the engineers I mentored.

“
As the UX designer during the development of our recruitment portal, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Tushar. Throughout the project's phases, his systematic approach shone through, establishing him as a steadfast member of our technical ensemble. Tushar's adeptness in backend systems, paired with his diligence in refining our Jira workflow, was instrumental in ensuring our project's orderly progression. Although the crux of our collaboration was on design and development, Tushar's proactive endeavor to grasp the nuances of UX played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between design blueprints and their practical execution. Beyond his evident technical proficiency, our work environment was uplifted by Tushar's collaborative spirit, we shared a lot of good laughs! Reflecting on our partnership, I can confidently endorse Tushar for development roles, recognizing his potential to integrate seamlessly into and enrich any team.
